Kentucky: Council on Postsecondary Education

2004 Legislative Session

The Council is charged with submitting a biennial budget request to the Governor on behalf of the entire postsecondary system.  It includes funding priorities not only for operations of the Council and the postsecondary institutions, but requests for capital projects, student aid and adult education services.

The Council works closely with legislative members and their staff during annual sessions advocating for or against legislation, monitoring bills and providing information as needed. 

The Council President periodically gives presentations to various legislative groups regarding education policy and budget issues.

The Council is committed to remaining publicly accountable for postsecondary education reform through distribution of information about progress and challenges.

Kentucky Inter-Alumni Council

The Kentucky Inter-Alumni Council (IAC) is comprised of alumni representatives from Kentucky’s colleges and universities.  The IAC provides a forum to promote the importance of postsecondary education and to advocate for the needs of Kentucky students and the postsecondary education system.
