REGIONAL STEWARDSHIP AND KENTUCKY EXPERTS TO SPEAK AT KICK-OFF WORKSHOP
WHO: Representative Frank Rasche, House District 3, Dave Adkisson, president and chief executive officer of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, and Doug Henton and John Melville of the Alliance for Regional Stewardship and Collaborative Economics.
WHAT: The Council on Postsecondary Education will host a regional stewardship workshop for teams representing all public four-year postsecondary institutions and the Kentucky Community College and Technical System. The workshop is designed to provide an overview of the concepts of and best practices related to regional stewardship. The Council passed guidelines for a new Regional Stewardship Program July 10, giving $4.8 million over two years to the state’s six comprehensive universities to develop and implement service and public engagement initiatives designed to meet the needs of their respective service areas.
WHEN: Rasche and Adkisson will provide opening remarks at the conference at 1 p.m. on July 17. Henton will speak at 2 p.m. and Melville at 2:30 p.m. The workshop will continue through 1 p.m. on July 18.
