- Description
Access is provided to veterinary medicine training programs by means of a contract with the SREB, since Kentucky does not have a college of veterinary medicine. Kentucky currently contracts for 36 entering spaces- 34 at Auburn University and 2 at Tuskegee University. Students compete for admission by following guidelines set by SREB, the universities, and the Council on Postsecondary Education. Students admitted under the contract program are charged reduced rates and each student is responsible for fees. In addition to the payment by the student, Kentucky pays a fee for each student to the enrolling institution for a total of four years. Other than the requirement that the applicant be a Kentucky resident, the student does not have an obligation to Kentucky under the contract program
