Project Lead the Way (PLTW)
Project Lead the
Way (PLTW) is a middle school and high school project and problem based
contextual
learning curriculum.
Project Lead the Way seeks to create dynamic partnerships with schools
and industry
in order to prepare
an increasing and more diverse group of students for success in engineering
and
engineering technology
programs. For more information on the curriculum, professional development
and
partnership teams,

of UK's commitment to the advancement of pre-engineering
education, UK
provides PLTW affiliate university support.
Summer
Training Institute
UK will host a
summer training institute for PLTW for teachers June 15- June 27, 2008.
Courses will be:
Gateway to Technology, Introduction to Design, Principles of Engineering
Teachers must
be registered with PLTW 72 hours before applying for summer training.
Please see the

Registration
is $2100 and includes lunches.
Housing is not
included in registration and participants must make their own reservations.
Housing: Fairfield
Inn, Georgetown, KY 502-868-9955.Housing reservations must be complete
by May 9, 2008
in order to
secure the $70.00/night (plus taxes) rate. Reservations after this date
are at the $104/night rate.
Be certain to
let the Fairfield know that you are checking in as part of the PLTW
group when reserving your room.
College
Credit for PLTW - Pathway to Engineering Course
UK College of
Engineering will offer college credit to students with PLTW-Pathway
to Engineering
credit beginning
Fall 2008. Details
