Institutional Financial Aid Policies
For 2007-08, the Council requested that institutions increase their committment to financial aid, specifically targeted for low-income and transfer students. All institutions are required to submit their plans regarding institutional financial aid to the Council when tuition and fees are approved. These plans include existing programs and a description of new programs and targeted areas.

Reciprocity Agreements

Currently, Kentucky participates in tuition reciprocity agreements with Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia which provide that eligible Kentucky students pay the in-state tuition rate at a participating out-of-state institution.
Mandatory Tuition Waivers

Kentucky law requires Kentucky public postsecondary institutions to waive the tuition charged to specific groups of individuals.
Faculty and Staff Tuition Waiver Policy

This policy permits regular, full-time employees of Kentucky public, postsecondary institutions to enroll and waive tuition for six college credit hours per semester at any public institution.
