Institute for Postsecondary Staff Leadership

The Institute for Postsecondary Staff Leadership (IPSL) is a professional development program designed to cultivate emerging leaders among early-career higher education staff. Through a comprehensive curriculum that draws on both national and statewide perspectives, IPSL helps participants define their leadership aspirations, sharpen their skills and build an actionable path toward their professional goals, all while connecting with a network of colleagues who share their ambitions.

Formerly known as ALDI, IPSL has served seven cohorts and reached approximately 150 professionals across Kentucky, building a growing community of campus leaders from a wide range of backgrounds and roles.


Bays

John Dylan Bays

Henderson Community College

Bays serves as a psychology instructor at Henderson Community College, where he teaches undergraduate psychology courses with an emphasis on student engagement, autonomy and intrinsic motivation. His professional interests include cognitive-behavioral and existential psychology, as well as the application of generative artificial intelligence to teaching and workforce preparation. Bays holds a Master of Science in clinical psychology from Northwestern State University of Louisiana and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Shawnee State University.

Bowles

Lassie Bowles

Madisonville Community College

Bowles serves as an academic success coach at Madisonville Community College, where she supports students in navigating academic resources and progressing toward their educational goals. An alumna of Madisonville Community College and a first-generation college graduate, Bowles holds a Bachelor of Science from Murray State University and is currently pursuing a Master of Education in higher education with a concentration in student affairs at Liberty University.

Breeze

Mary Breeze

Maysville Community and Technical College

Breeze serves as a success coach at Maysville Community and Technical College, where she supports students in achieving their academic and personal goals. She is an advisor for MCTC's NAMI on Campus chapter and represents the college on the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Mental Health Community of Practice, in addition to serving on CPE’s Mental Health Guiding Team. Breeze holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Transylvania University and a Master of Education with an emphasis in counseling and human development from Lindsey Wilson College, and also holds the SHRM-SCP credential.

Delap

Stacey Delap

Gateway Community and Technical College

Delap serves as director of accessibility services at Gateway Community and Technical College, where she also teaches as an adjunct instructor in psychology. With 11 years at Gateway, she is dedicated to advancing student success and increasing awareness of the needs and strengths of students with disabilities. Delap holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master of Arts in school counseling, both from Northern Kentucky University.

Delph

Chester Delph

University of Louisville

Delph serves as associate director of employer engagement in the University Career Center at the University of Louisville, where he leads the Employer Engagement team and develops strategic partnerships to support students' career exploration, preparation and post-graduate success. His doctoral research focuses on the effects of Name, Image and Likeness opportunities on female student-athletes. Delph holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a Master of Arts in teaching in secondary education, both from the University of Louisville, and is expected to complete his Ph.D. in college student personnel there in 2026.

Fortwengler

Kaitlin Fortwengler

Jefferson Community and Technical College

Fortwengler serves as outreach coordinator for the Access*Ability Resource Center at Jefferson Community and Technical College, where she builds partnerships that expand support for students with disabilities and strengthen connections between secondary and postsecondary education. She is currently working toward a Medical Interpreting Certificate and licensure as an ASL interpreter. Fortwengler holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theatre from Lindenwood University and an Associate of Applied Science in interpreter education, along with a Certificate of Specialization in American Sign Language, from St. Louis Community College.

Hall

John Hall

Northern Kentucky University

Hall works in data analytics and student success at Northern Kentucky University, bringing more than 15 years of experience across admissions, recruitment and advising in higher education. He has served as a senior fellow for the Student Success Collaborative with the Council on Postsecondary Education and as a coach for the NaviGo college and career prep program. Hall holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from Transylvania University, a Master of Arts in higher education leadership from the College of William and Mary, and a doctorate in adult and higher education leadership from Morehead State University.

Hampton

Tiffany Hampton

Eastern Kentucky University

Hampton serves as interim executive director for project management and CRM operations within the Department of Information Technology at Eastern Kentucky University, where she provides strategic leadership for initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and institutional effectiveness. A first-generation college graduate with more than 20 years of experience in higher education, her professional background spans academic advising, student retention, institutional operations, project management and data analysis. Hampton holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University.

Langdon

David Langdon

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College

Langdon serves as an academic counselor with TRIO Educational Opportunity Centers at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, where he helps first-generation and low-income adults clarify career goals, navigate admissions and financial aid, and persist toward certificates and degrees. He founded the Kentucky Jailers' Coalition for Education, serving the ECTC enrollment area, and has a particular interest in postsecondary access, retention and student success systems. Langdon holds a Bachelor of Arts in literature and creative writing from Western Kentucky University and an Associate of Arts from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in English at Morehead State University.

McClure

Leanna McClure

Murray State University

McClure serves as coordinator for first-year academic advising at Murray State University, where she has held positions spanning academic and student affairs since 2012. She is passionate about facilitating collaboration among faculty, staff and departments to provide students with holistic support and intentional guidance. McClure holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science, both from Murray State University, and is currently pursuing a post-baccalaureate degree in social work.

Mason

Adrian Mason

West Kentucky Community and Technical College

Mason serves as academic support coordinator for the Student Success Center at West Kentucky Community and Technical College, where his support philosophy centers on meeting students where they are and recognizing their individual strengths. He previously served on campus with TRIO Student Support Services as an education specialist. Mason holds a Bachelor of Science in animal sciences and a Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics from the University of Kentucky, as well as a Master of Science in human development and leadership from Murray State University.

Samantha Mason

Northern Kentucky University

Mason serves as assistant director in the Center for Student Engagement at Northern Kentucky University, where she oversees all student organizations and directly advises the Activities Programming Board. She earned the Student Affairs Newcomer Award during her first year as a full-time staff member. Mason holds a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master of Social Work from Northern Kentucky University and is a licensed certified social worker.

Myers

Courtney Myers

Maysville Community and Technical College

Myers serves as a human resources specialist at Maysville Community and Technical College, having recently transitioned from a role as student support specialist. She serves as chair of the college's Staff Council and is committed to leadership development and empowering others through education. Myers holds a bachelor's degree from Kent State University and a Master of Arts in adult and higher education from Morehead State University.

Perdue

Jackie Perdue

Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College

Perdue serves as tutor coordinator and adjunct sociology instructor at Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College, where she has earned the Staff Soaring Beyond Expectations Award and multiple nominations for Outstanding Service to Students. A first-generation college student and SKYCTC alumna, Perdue's professional interests focus on equity in education and the relationship between social capital and academic success. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Western Kentucky University and a Master of Arts in sociology, also from WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY, where her thesis examined social capital and college students' academic success.

Reams

Katie Reams

Bluegrass Community and Technical College

Reams serves as associate registrar at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, having previously worked as an academic advisor there for five years. She received the Bluegrass Support Staff Award of Excellence in 2024 and served successive terms as vice chair and chair of the Staff Council. Reams holds a Bachelor of Arts in community support services and a Master of Arts in adult and higher education, both from Morehead State University.

Rose

Carla Rose

Somerset Community College

Rose serves as a member of the Center for Advising Retention and Engagement at Somerset Community College, where she has worked in various capacities since age 18, including eight years in financial aid. Her professional interests center on student success and helping students reach their educational goals. Rose holds an Associate of Arts from Somerset Community College, a Bachelor of Business Administration in general business from Morehead State University and a Master of Arts in organizational leadership from Western Kentucky University.

Scott

Nasharee Scott

Hopkinsville Community College

Scott is a recruiter within student affairs at Hopkinsville Community College. In addition to her professional pursuits, her community service focus includes volunteer work with organizations supporting unhoused individuals and others experiencing hardship. Her professional interests center on purpose-driven leadership, community empowerment and service to others. Scott holds a degree from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Smith

Julia Smith

Hazard Community and Technical College

Smith works in the admissions office at Hazard Community and Technical College, where she has guided prospective students through the enrollment process for eight years. A first-generation college student and HCTC alumna, Smith is passionate about removing barriers to opportunity for students navigating college for the first time. She participated in the KCTCS LEAD Academy leadership development program and holds a bachelor's degree earned after completing her studies at HCTC.

Tevis

Eli Tevis

Bluegrass Community and Technical College

Tevis serves in Student Accessibility Services at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, having previously worked as a grants specialist with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. His professional interests center on student-facing support and expanding access for students with disabilities. Tevis holds a Bachelor of Science in mass communication and journalism and a Master of Public Administration, both from Kentucky State University.

Wheeler

Rebecca Wheeler

Owensboro Community and Technical College

Wheeler serves as dean of student success at Owensboro Community and Technical College, where she oversees retention and engagement efforts, first-year experience programming and campus-wide support services. She developed and led the SAP Mentorship Program, a structured initiative supporting students who had lost and regained financial aid eligibility, and has completed the KCTCS LEAD Academy. Wheeler is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Education in adult and higher education leadership at Morehead State University, with research focused on program evaluation and equity in higher education policy.
