Committee Membership

In order to conduct its work efficiently, the Council has four standing committees who review recommendations of action before they come to the full Council and provide advisement on state initiatives and other work. With an exception to the Executive Committee, Council members serve at the discretion of the chair. 

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee reviews all agency budget and personnel matters, provides for an annual audit of the agency, evaluates the president, and recommends annual compensation for the president. The Executive Committee may also act on items that do not fall within the responsibility of other committees as determined by the Chair. Membership consists of the chair, vice chair, the chair of the Academic and Strategic Initiatives Committee, the chair of the Finance Committee, and up to three other Council members appointed by the chair for one-year terms.

Academic and Strategic Initiatives

The Academic and Strategic Initiatives Committee  reviews and oversees the progress toward the objectives of the statewide Strategic Agenda and efforts to achieve the state’s educational attainment goals; and reviews and recommends action to the full Council on matters including new academic programs, academic program review, and development of statewide academic-related initiatives.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee reviews all applicable data and provides recommendations to the full Council in the following areas: biennial budget requests, tuition and mandatory fees, performance funding, and capital projects; reviews overall college costs and provides guidance on other college and university finance-related matters.

Nominating Committee

A Nominating Committee shall be appointed annually by the chair at the last scheduled meeting of the calendar year for the purpose of nominating a new chair and vice chair for the next calendar year. A Council member seeking Council office shall not be a member of the committee. The committee's recommendations are presented to the Council at the first scheduled meeting of the calendar year.
