Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education

Career Development Officers Affinity Group

The Career Development Officers (CDO) Affinity Group brings together career services and workforce development professionals from colleges and universities across Kentucky. The group serves as a collaborative space to share innovative ideas, best practices, and insights that support student career readiness across the state. Through professional development, resource sharing, and statewide collaboration, the CDO Affinity Group works to strengthen career services and better connect students with Kentucky’s evolving workforce opportunities.

Who Should Participate?

If your work helps students prepare for careers and make the transition from college to the workforce, we’d love to have you involved! The group includes career services professionals, career coaches, employer engagement staff and others who support students along their career journey.

CDO Meetings

We meet throughout the academic year to talk about issues that matter to career services professionals right now. Meetings are designed to be practical and worth your time, with colleagues from Kentucky and across the country sharing ideas and approaches you can take back to your campus.

For 2026–27, we’re digging into career services data. We’ll talk about what we should be collecting, how to collect it without making things more complicated than they need to be and how to use that information to tell the story of the great work happening in career services. We’ll also look at ways data can help demonstrate impact and advocate for the resources needed to better serve students.

Whether you have a large career services team or you’re doing a little bit of everything on your campus, there’s a place for you in the CDO community.
